Roost checks for updates once a day and asks before it installs one. To look now: Roost › Check for Updates…
1.1.2

Fixed
- New mail from a company showed only an initial in the notch, while the list already had the company’s icon. The notch now shows the same icon, from the company’s own website, for mail its provider proved genuine.

Fixed
- New mail shown in the notch left no trace once the island faded. It now also waits in Notification Center until you read the letter, with no second banner or sound.

New
- Swipe. Two fingers across a row: left for Done, further for Delete; right for Read, further for Flag. A short swipe springs back and does nothing. Settings › Reading changes what each side does.
- Only Unread. The Unread button over the list, or ⇧U. A letter you open stays in the list until you leave that view, so the row doesn’t vanish while you read it.
- In short. Press I on a long conversation for one sentence on what’s settled, plus the question waiting for you, copied word for word from the newest letter. Apple Intelligence writes it on your Mac (macOS 26), and it can get a detail wrong.
- Templates. Add them in Settings › Templates. While writing, type
;and a few letters, then Tab.{first name}fills in the person’s name. - Notes. Press N to leave yourself a note beside a letter, or on a sentence you selected. Notes stay on this Mac, and never show up in a reply or a print.
- List width. Drag the gap between the list and the letter. Double-click it to go back.
- Manage Subscription in the Roost menu, for cancelling or changing your card.
- Guides for adding an inbox, one per provider, linked from setup and the Help menu.
Fixed
- Letters over 128 KB could open as encoded text (
=3Deverywhere), with no page, files or Unsubscribe. They now come whole, and any saved wrong download again by themselves the first time you open 1.1. - The unread number never showed in the Dock, because Roost hadn’t asked macOS for badges. It asks now. If macOS still hides the number, Settings says so and links to the switch.
- ⌘Z while writing changed what you saw but not what got sent, so words you’d taken back could still go out. Fixed in the reply box and in compose windows.
- Some newsletters showed black text on the dark background in Dusk.
- Reply All no longer copies your other inboxes’ “Also sends as” addresses.
- Marking a letter unread right after reading it could still end up read on the server.
- When an inbox’s sign-in had expired, the Sent copy of a letter you’d just sent could be lost. It now waits until you sign in again.
- The Yahoo and AOL app password links were dead. Zoho’s “enable IMAP” refusal now says mail apps are off, and a refused Yandex login says a new app password can take 2 to 3 hours to start working.
If you moved a big letter to another inbox on 1.0: that copy may hold only its first part. The whole letter is in the Trash of the inbox it came from, until that Trash is emptied. Letters forwarded from 1.0 with the encoded text stay as they were sent.
